WAITING FOR “PERFECT” WON’T GIVE YOU AN INCOME

IF YOU WAIT FOR THE PERFECT START
YOU COULD LOSE SIGHT OF WHAT
YOU ARE REALLY AFTER.
One of my biggest personal struggles in business
has been that waiting of perfection of a task or project that I’ve wanted to do.
I can illustrate this problem now, being a self employed online marketer.
I guess its just part of my DNA.
I have great ideas and my research is also thorough
but I find that instead of just jumping into the project,
I laboured over silly trivialities that in hindsight
had no bearing on the marketing outcome.
I believe that my idealistic form of perfection is really
just an excuse not to get started.
Almost as crazy as being scared of making big sorts of commission.
How would I handle it? Why would it happen to me?
How could I possibly be in a position to earn a big commission?
Well guess what folks,
something I started a few months ago
as an experimental ad through facebook,
has just come through paypal as a $1000 paypal commission.
I’ve got no idea who bought.
Now to find who it actually was and send them a thank you,
welcome aboard and “I’ll help you along the way” email.
But I digress.
I’m talking about my weak excuse
not to just jump into strategies in fear of making a fool of myself.
Making mistakes has to be the greatest teacher of all.
The more mistakes you make,
the closer to a winning formula you will come.
Most of the success stories that I read
through books that I collect are from failure marketers and sports heros.
Michael Jordan has a great image out there
on the thousands of failed shots that he had to take to win the game.
He just kept shooting.
So to those of you who are seriously considering
getting online to create a business, it can and will be done.
We as marketers are learning from tried and tested
successful business systems that thousands are using.
Not waiting and waiting for that perfect time of the planets lining up,
or the economics of the country being right
(you know where I’m coming from) just get into it.
Look forward to making mistakes,
it’ll open more avenues for you to pursue than if you hadn’t tried.
You might even find that what may not have worked
in some circumstance now, will work somewhere
and sometime better later on. Mistakes will not necessarily be lost.
Perfection is difficult.
It’s always evolving so if you’ve made a brave move to get online,
making mistakes will be a walk in the park.
I wasted years waiting for that perfect time
to take the first step of getting involved.
Don’t be like me, jump in and get dirty.
